Walter "Andy" Anderson Service Award This award is made annually to a member in recognition of outstanding service and contribution to the Association of Information Technology Professionals, Honolulu Chapter. The award was established in 1965 in memory of Walter "Andy" Anderson. Andy became a member of the Honolulu Chapter in 1959. Although he never aspired to become a Board member, he served on several committees simultaneously and was considered by many, who had the pleasure of working with him, as the hardest worker and greatest booster of AITP (then known as DPMA) in Hawaii. Nominations for the award each year can be made by any member and should be submitted to the chairman of the Awards Committee, in writing, by the 15th of the month preceding the annual banquet (held normally in December). The Awards Committee will screen the nominations and make its recommendation to the Board. Each member of the Board of Directors votes separately on each nominee recommended by the Awards Committee. The member (or members) receiving the most votes from at least two-thirds of the directors wins the award. The voting is by secret ballot and only the President knows the results until it is announced at the annual banquet. PAST AWARD RECIPIENTS |
