HTCA/AITP 2012 Annual Conference - Technology: A Path to Hawaii's Economic Sustainability

Join HTCA for their exciting Annual Conference and AITP Luncheon. Key features will focus on growing emerging industries, Hawaii's broadband initiative, technology startups, and the Tech sector's role in Hawaii.
Speakers
Senator Carol Fukunaga shall speak to her leadership role in legislative efforts on Hawaii's path to diversification, Act 221,2010 Tech Caucus, and the Act 148 Innovation Initiative.
Jay Fidell, the keynote speaker, will address the private sector's perspective on industry diversification and the tech sector's role in Hawaii's economic development.
Anton C. Krucky, President and CEO of Tissue Genesis Inc. and our AITP-sponsored luncheon speaker, will address his role as an investor, entrepreneur and his own experiences growing a technology company.
Yuka Nagashima, Executive Director & CEO of High Technology Development Corporation, will present on the State Broadband Initiative for Hawaii to have ubiquitous 1 Gbps by 2018.
In addition to the above speakers, the HTCA 2012 Annual Conference shall provide attendees with a unique blend of informative presentations, panel discussions Burt Lum, of Bytemarks, will moderate a panel with Ian Kitajima (Oceanit), Darren Kimura (Sopogy), and Dan Leuck (Ikayzo) to discuss their experiences in starting and operating technology-based businesses, and what is required to better provide incentives to start or grow tech sector companies. Also Corporate Sponsor Booths will provide information and assistance in the field of technology, culture, employee training.
Breakout Sessions will include:
- How do we inspire our youth to pursue a Science, Math, Engineering, and Technology (SMET) education and seek work at home to provide a more educated workforce for companies?
- State Launches Broadband Initiative: Yuka Nagashima will lead the charge and develop the public/private partnerships and investments that will bring this initiative to reality.
- The critical role of technology in "Hawaii's clean energy future: Innovating through adversity" with Jeff Mikulina from Blue Planet Foundation and Ian Kitajima from Oceanit.
This Conference will give executives and managers great information on strategic planning of technology in a tech and non-tech companies as well as for those companies based in Hawaii that require or will require knowledge based technology workers.
